Live-in care was a revelation. My husband and I tried residential when I broke my leg, but the routines didn't suit us at all. And they served curry and chips one night! My request for rice was simply met with a blank stare! It was so wonderful to return to our own home and be able to choose our favourite meals and be in control of the day's timetable and the TV channel again! I had to teach some of the Carers how to cook a few of our favourite dishes, but I actually rather enjoyed the process.
My wife has advanced dementia, but we had promised one another we would never put the other one into a home. I am so grateful to the Live-in Carers. They take great care of me too! It means I can still pop into the office and fit in a round of golf, knowing that C is in very safe hands
