Live-In Care

Live-in Care offers around the clock help and reassurance for you – and 24/7 peace of mind for family members.

The joy is that you can:

  • Stay at home and maintain routines and social activities
  • Have all your practical needs met – from personal care to cooking and shopping
  • Assuming a car is available, live-in care solves transport issues for both social and medical appointments.
  • Still have family come and stay – leading to much more natural and joyous visits than when off-island family has to visit a care-home or you are catching up exclusively in coffee shops and restaurants.
  • Keep much-loved pets and, within reason, have help with their care too.

In short, live-in care meets practical care needs but avoids long days alone by offering companionship both at home and on outings when desired.

Typically, two or three Carers will work in rotation for 2-3 weeks at a time. The Carer does need some time off each day but cover can be provided if required.

Live-in care may suit you on an ongoing basis, or may only be a short-term component of your care e.g. for a few weeks after an operation. After that, you may simply need hourly care at times to suit you.

“We are always delighted with the service, efficiency and cheerfulness of all the ladies who look after G’s needs each morning. Thank you."

You are not the first care agency we have used. Dad can be difficult! Thank you for succeeding where others have failed!”
“To think I was worried about receiving care at first! Now I don’t know how I managed without you!”
“We really can’t thank you enough. Bless you all.”
“Without you all Mum would not be able to stay at home. THANK YOU”
“…with deepest thanks for such amazing help with Dad this year”
“The care and professionalism we received was second to none”
“Your care in the last days of Mum’s life was greatly appreciated. You were all outstanding”

Our live-in Carers are all supervised and supported by our on-island Care Managers. We take great pride in matching Carers to clients. If you are unsure whether live-in care is for you we can always set up a trial – but would suggest that two weeks is a meaningful minimum.

Live-in care does need a home with a spare room and bathroom. It is often financially competitive, depending on care home choice. The first step is for one of our Care Managers to pop in and meet you, see your home and discuss your needs and questions. Staying at home safely could be just a phone call away!
